High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

High-Density Polyethylene is a thermoplastic embedded with a linear structure and low degree of branching. Now a bit about manufacturing, it’s manufactured at a low temperature -   70-300°C and pressure – 10-80 bar. The manufacturing process occurs from either:     

  • Modifying a natural gas (a methane, ethane, propane mix)  
  • The catalytic cracking of crude oil into gasoline
